MATHCOUNTS:
Congratulations! Our Lady of Fatima placed 3rd at the Beaver County Competition this year!
Art 1:
Students have completed many diverse projects including cut and paste art, geometric design, use of tempera paints, and art which incorporates symmetry and perspective. I have witnessed such enthusiasm and growth in these young students.
Computer 2:
Students have learned almost all the keys and finger placement, and we will complete all rows soon. Second graders have also done various research projects, both individually and in teams.
Science 5:
Fifth grade has learned many new concepts recently, including diversity in animal structure, ecosystems, ways to recycle and conserve, and communal living within biomes. Students have shown much growth and development in
note-taking and reading for comprehension.
Math 5:
We are currently working on identifying and representing fractional parts using shapes, number lines, and money.
Soon we will cover processes involving unlike fractions and mixed numbers.l
Pre-Algebra 7:
Students have been using formulas to determine volume and surface area of geometric figures such as prisms, cylinders, cones, and spheres. Good work!
Pre-Algebra 8:
Students are studying geometry concepts including points, lines ,planes, angles, and triangles.
Next we'll move on to polygons and coordinate geometry! :)
